The primary issue is that classrooms are designed to separate and isolate students, promoting individual work over group collaboration. Technology is being introduced into the classroom and has the potential to upend the old ways of learning, but we've only gone from the table to the tablet! In theory, we are more connected than ever before, but we are facing a pandemic of isolation, anxiety disorders, depression, and behavioral problems. The social challenges of today's world have pulled us into a very lonely, isolated existence and COVID has only made matters worse.
